The GEO DATA as a peer-reviewed Journal provides an open access platform for sharing earth science data. It has been launched by the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources, the National Institute of Ecology, the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology, the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, and the Korea Polar Research Institute; the organizations that produce relevant earth science data.
The main purpose of this journal is to facilitate publishing novel scientific articles which explain the usage of the collected earth science data with a brief description of data attribute as well as the used methods to generate new information. Moreover, the journal gives researchers the opportunity to easily share the collected data. The data can be employed in new projects and can be utilized as an input to construct new dataset. The platform supports easily retrieval of data that is prone to be forgotten as supplementary material in other journals. The journal opens up opportunities for new collaborations and boost the citation count of published articles as a result of sharing data between researchers.
The GEO Data journal highly recommends submitting data from all research fields, as it is not known which data will be useful to other researchers.
